The GTA Rehab Network is made up of publicly-funded hospital and community-based organizations from across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) that are involved in the planning and provision of rehabilitation services.

The Network’s vision is to create an integrated rehabilitation system that provides quality services to patients and their families. Through collaboration, Network members identify issues and develop and implement innovative solutions to improve coordination of and access to rehabilitation services for the residents of the GTA. The Network serves as a coordinating and advisory body. It does not provide direct service to clients.

Network initiatives are focused on:

  • ensuring equitable access to services
  • improving coordination and streamlining processes
  • increasing transparency and accountability
  • improving system planning capability
  • promoting best practices.

The Network also communicates the interests of the rehabilitation sector to the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC) and advocates for changes to improve the rehabilitation system.

The Network was established in 1999, on the recommendation of the Health Services Restructuring Commission (HSRC).
